I’ve just sent the following to feedback for sunsolve…. I suggest anyone else who’s having this problem deluge them with requests for status updates.

Hi, I’ve been trying for more than 3 months to download patches (security only) from sunsolve, using the PCA script. Every time, I keep getting a 500 internal error. I’ve tried this from at least three different networks that I have access to, and have received the same exact error.
Looking online I find this note in the comments from a SUN EMPLOYEE on a SUN BLOG (http://blogs.sun.com/patch/entry/stricter_solaris_patch_entitlement_implementation#comments):
“Since customers get effectively bound to one of these servers for a period of time, if the server has an issue, then the customer may experience repeated failures until the server is fixed or the binding to that server expires. At least that’s the current theory.”
Is there some sort of status report that the general public can receive on this? I can only assume from my testing that this is a more widespread problem and affects a good number of people.
—- Editors note: my personal account does not work, but the one from “bugmenot” does. riddle me this.
