After glaring at the scale for too long now, I’m going to be making more of an effort towards getting back into shape.
It started with taking the dog for walks (we have a backyard that she runs around in and gets plenty of exercise) around the block, then down the road, then walking faster. I’m able to get up the hill without panting anymore.
I’ve been able to do ~40 sit-ups a day in the “ab lounge”, which means that it’s stopped being a dropoff point for clothes. I actually like the fact that we bought it, since sit-ups caused me great pain in parts other than my stomach. Probably because I was doing it wrong, but the contraption makes me do it correctly. Worth it for me.
Over the weekend, we looked at a really nice, but expensive workout machine. It won several awards, has a bunch of bells and whistles, and is a good goal to work towards. We just don’t have that kind of money right now.
So, since I still want to move forward with getting back in shape, today I stopped in at the local ‘buy everything here’ store, and purchased these on the cheap:

Hopefully I won’t drop them on my toes.
