Sue me. :D I’m on facebook, and that’s more “private” and catered to people who I’ve interacted with instead of faceless masses. Seeing as I don’t ever want to dedicate a large portion of my life shilling to make a name for myself… well, you get the idea.
Still, I think I’m going to change this over to a more technical tidbits blog. Might be of some help to folks, who knows.
In any case, the husband and I were trying to figure out how to remove duplicates from his iTunes library after a forced reinstall from RC Windows 7 to “real” Windows 7 (awesome job there, M$) and after some finagling and research, came up with this:
1) Static playlist called “Files”, go back to your “Music”. Control A, drag everything over to “Files”
2) In the iTunes menu “File” (you know, next to “Edit), select Create Smart Playlist.
3) Name your new smart playlist “Missing”, and start making rules. One will need “Playlist is Music”, the other “Playlist is not Files”
4) A new playlist will pop up, select all the files in it (not the playlist itself) and delete.
5) Go drink a booze, pat yourself on the back and bask in the glory.
